Abstract

Dear Readers,
As the JSPS team, we are delighted and excited to meet you once again in our third
issue. As in our previous issues, this edition also brings together original studies that
address current issues through interdisciplinary perspectives, with a commitment to
academic diversity and depth. We firmly believe that with each issue, we are building a
stronger, more impactful, and more original platform for scientific dialogue. We
sincerely thank you, our valued readers, for being a part of this journey.
The articles featured in this issue offer unique contributions to some of the fundamental
debates of our time. The first study analyzes the phenomena of belief and secularization
in the post-truth era within a sociological and philosophical framework, highlighting the
tension between modern understandings of knowledge and transcendence. It focuses on
how belief and secular practices are being reshaped in an age where the value of truth is
diminishing.
Our second article presents a comparative analysis of internationally recognized ISTE
standards and the Europe-based DigCompEdu competencies in the field of digital
education. In particular, it explores how teacher competencies have been structured in
the rapidly accelerating process of digitalization following the COVID-19 pandemic, and
how these structures influence educational practices.
The third study explores the intersection of values education and technology by
analyzing animated content aimed at primary school students. In particular, it examines
the “Afacanların Hikayesi” YouTube channel and how its animations contribute to value
transmission within the framework of the Ministry of National Education’s Türkiye
Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli.
We believe that this issue, with its blend of theoretical and practical works, will
contribute meaningfully to the academic world and offer fresh perspectives to our
readers. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our authors, reviewers, and editorial team
members who contributed to the publication process.
We look forward to meeting you again in our future issues.
On behalf of the Editorial Team
